About Us

Clackamas Community Alliance (CCA) brings together agencies working on substance use prevention to advance a coordinated, local response and strengthen partnerships while addressing the crisis of opioids and other drugs. Together, we strive to heal our community and lift up populations disproportionately impacted by substance use.

In 2018, Clackamas County formed an Opioid Task Force to address the alarming rise in opioid misuse and overdose, an epidemic fueled by the sharp increase in opioid prescribing for pain that began decades earlier.

Since 2020, new challenges posed by Covid-19 and a drug supply increasingly contaminated by fentanyl have contributed to steadily rising overdose rates.

Opioid Task Force members voted to change the name of the group in 2021 to the Clackamas Community Alliance (CCA) to reflect its unified approach and evolving trends of substance use.
